A Gala Event in Old Tappan to Benefit Zoe’s Place
Over 120 guests gathered on October 24, 2010 at the home of Glen and Donna Lumia in Old Tappan to learn about Zoe’s Place, a Bergen County based non-profit organization providing a home and support services to Bergen County pregnant teens, homeless teen mothers and their babies. A Simple Act of Kindness in Old Tappan Brings New Meaning to the Phrase “PTA”
The 2010-2011 school year budget that failed to pass, no federal funding for our district, as well as other unsettling events left many of the Old Tappan teachers discontented and dissatisfied, some even unsure of their immediate employment future. It didn’t take Heather Mauro, the newly appointed 2010-2011 PTA President to recognize the dire need for camaraderie among the parents and teachers of the Old Tappan Parent-Teacher Association. Mauro, as well as the other PTA board members, believe a PTA should truly encompass the ideas and involvement of both the parents, as well as the teachers, to provide the best environment to wholly benefit our children.
